HUMIDITY MEASURER

HUMIDITY MEASURER

Eggs connect to their environment through their shell, exchanging air and water (humidity). The intensity of the air flow and the humidity of the air determine how much water the eggs lose. In dry, moving air the eggs dry out.

During incubation, the eggs must lose 13-15% of their weight. In return, the size of the air chamber increases, which becomes important after the inner shell-lining is broken through because from that moment the embryo uses its lungs for breathing. If the air chamber is too small, the embryo suffocates.

That is why measuring the humidity is very important.
